Upcoming Imagineers Board Training Events - Roberts Rules and the CIOA Required Conduct of Board Meetings
In our continuing effort to respond to the upcoming changes in the Common Interest Ownership Act (CIOA) as well as the strong interest expressed from Board members, we are planning a training event focused on covering a common sense approach to better utilizing Robert Rules to more effectively run Board and Annual meetings. This is in response to the CIOA changes regarding required conduct of board meetings.
We will bring an accredited parliamentarian to help cover the basics of Robert Rules in a condominium board meeting setting. We plan this to be a rational approach to provide tips on how to more effectively run meetings and to meet the intent of the CIOA changes. We will provide handouts including helpful cheat sheets and simplified guidelines designed to make it easier to understand and use Robert Rules. We will also offer practical advice on how to deal with difficult people in a meeting setting.
Whether you just need a refresher course or know very little about Robert Rules, this is sure to be a beneficial meeting for you and your fellow board members. Look for this Imagineers board training event in August/September. We will notify you directly through email. This is a continuation of the board training events that we conducted this past year including the following: 1.) Getting the Most from your Community Financial Statements; 2.) Community Web Portal: How to Best Utilize this Feature as a Beneficial Tool for your Community and: 3.) Changes to the Common Interest Ownership Act.
